·      B.S Freed Hardeman University

·      M.A. Wayne State University, Education Specialist

·      28 years as a Melvindale Teacher, Coach and administrator from 1978 - 2006

·      Lifelong contributions in Melvindale athletics, education, and community

·      Coached football, 13 seasons beginning in 1979

·      Track and field coach, 4 seasons including teams that were 2nd and 3rd in the area

·      All Area Coach of the Year, twice

·      Regional Coach of the Year, twice

·      Coached 1 State Champion, 42 State Qualifiers, 18 State place finisher, and 46 League Champions.  His teams won 8 League Championships

·      Kavorkian family: Wife-Ann Marie, daughters-Julie and Jennifer, grandchildren-Jason and Kayla, and Mark’s parents-George and Patricia
